My understanding is that conurbation is the geographical term, while megalopolis is typically used in science fiction. It's possible that this could be a difference between the British and American languages. (I'm in the UK.) My preference would be to put them under conurbation, with megalopolis as a redirect. -- Daran 22:21, 4 Oct 2003 (UTC)

What about Metropolitan area? I don't see much difference among the three articles. -- Taku

Seems to be slightly different. A conurbation is what you get when two or more metropolitan areas merge. -- Daran 22:21, 4 Oct 2003 (UTC)
