Meerpet is a town in Rangareddi district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

As of 2001 India census[1], Meerpet had a population of 12,940. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Meerpet has an average literacy rate of 63%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 54%. In Meerpet, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Although there are houses that have been constructed more than a 100 years ago, urban civilization started around 20 years ago. Meerpet can be considered a purely residential hub. Few commercial establishments that have come up are Educational institutes like Primary and Higher educations schools
