- What's going on?
- The dispute arise from the fact that the article must contain facts and not urban legends.
- Even though that a scientific explanation provided to these users they just want to keep to article with its errors. These users don't want to have any discussion(s) to resolve the dispute.
- What would you like to change about that?
- I would either have these users discuss the issues or just refrain from editing this value which they have limited knowledge.
- Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
- I do not care. Any way will be fine if the problem will be resolved. I have noting to hide my name is Genick Bar-Meir, Ph.D. and my credentials are written in my description about me in wiki or can be found in www.potto.org.
[edit] Mediator response
I'll take this case. I've got a degree in mathematics and physics, and I've been a teaching assistant in the physics and mathematics departments in past years (plus of course I have a strong grasp of how things work on wikipedia). So hopefully my experience will be of some use here. I'll look over this and review the evidence over the next couple of days or so. And I'll be contacting relevant parties in the near-ish future. [edit] Response by AKAF (talk · contribs)
Since there is currently an active discussion going on at shock wave, I see no need for this mediation. I will, however accept mediation if the mediator thinks it could be helpful. The core of this discussion is that potto has an interesting editing style which doesn't include, for example, verbs. An example of his editing can be seen at moving shock. Additionally potto persists in labelling anything which doesn't agree with his formulation as "Scientifically wrong" and in a range of personal attacks. His discussion style includes requesting personally identifying information and regarding pseudonymous editors as pushing a secret agenda and being unqualified. potto also persists in pushing his own (self-published) book and personal discoveries. The opinion of several editors is that he has a valuable contribution to make, and just needs to be persuaded to make it in a co-operative style. AKAF 09:51, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Administrative notes
Is this case still active? Do you need a new mediator or can I close it? --McClerk 05:10, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- From my side: Not active, and you can close. AKAF 14:36, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- Closing. --Ideogram 21:18, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
