[edit] Request Information

Where is the issue taking place?
The Terry Goodkind article and the associated talk page. Also in some cases on the article for Sword of Truth and Wizard's First Rule, which are associated with novelist Terry Goodkind.
Who's involved?
The antagonist, if you will, is User:Mystar, who has recently been editing without signing in (his IP is 68.188.220.8). The others involved are myself and a number of others, including User:Paul Willocx, User:Werthead, User:Brendan Moody, and anonymous IP 198.96.2.93 known as MB.
What's going on?
Mystar, who claims to frequently be in contact with Terry Goodkind, continuously reverts and changes the article page on Terry Goodkind to what "Goodkind himself wants". He has no respect for Wikipedia protocol or etiquette, and he refuses to recognize that neither he nor Goodkind have ownership of the article. He seems to think that what Goodkind wants goes, and he deletes all criticism or discussion from the article itself.
What would you like to change about that?
If possible, I'd like to be able to make him realize what does and does not belong in Wikipedia. It will be a difficult task - I've tried to be as civil as possible, and on several occasions now I have tried to give friendly advice and suggestions for how he could become a productive Wikipedian. (You'll see my additions on the Terry Goodkind talk page). If none of us can knock some sense into him, I'm afraid we may have to eventually ban him and his IP (though I know you would not be the individuals to make that decision).
Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
I can be reached on my talk page, but I'd rather you post any discussion openly on the Terry Goodkind talk page. If Mystar sees a large enough consensus, he might just consent to leave the article in peace.

[edit] Discussion

While using the talk page of the article in question to solve a dispute is encouraged to involve a larger audience, feel free to discuss the case below if that is not possible. Other mediators are also encouraged to join in on the discussion as Wikipedia is based on consensus.

To whom it may concern: I am withdrawing my plea for informal mediation. The conflict has escalated and I am pursuing either a formal mediation session (if the offending party will consent) and if not arbitration. Thank you for your time. Runch 20:42, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
