[edit] Request Information

Request made by: Miguel Wonham 17:11, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
Annonymous IP address continues to revert an edit (s)he made that I believe to be detrimental to the article.
StarCraft Clans Ideogram 12:34, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Who's involved?
Myself (Miguel Wonham, IP: 72.38.221.210) and the IP address 74.12.9.54
What's going on?
What appears to be the beginning of an edit war. We have both reverted twice to this point. I have gotten no response on the talk page, and no edit summaries have told me what the purpose of the edits are. Essentially, the person deletes an elaborative section of the article for unknown reasons. I feel that details adds to the article, giving it both depth and provide information.
What would you like to change about that?
Optimally I would have the other person explain their edit, so that our ideas can amalgamate into a more accurate and presentable article. Short of that, I would like them blocked from the article, since while not vandalism it does lower the article's quality.
Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
Any way is acceptable to me. If you wish discreet contact, dwonham AT hotmail DOT com may be used to discuss this, or the article talk page if discretion is not an issue.

[edit] Mediator response

I'll take this case, assuming we can grab hold of the other party involved, who is currently editing via an IP address. I will encourage him to register an account. --Sam Blanning(talk) 01:15, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

I haven't had any word from the IP, and as it hasn't edited the article since 3rd July, and the other participant, Miguel, hasn't edited since the 10th July, I've closed this mediation case as moribund. --Sam Blanning(talk) 09:48, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion

While using the talk page of the article in question to solve a dispute is encouraged to involve a larger audience, feel free to discuss the case below if that is not possible. Other mediators are also encouraged to join in on the discussion as Wikipedia is based on consensus.

Miguel: It seems the other editor is opposed to naming account or clan names. However, I feel that defeats the purpose of the article, which is about clans. I would like to see the article expanded by more editors to include more specific clans and influential account names. This is similar to how the Starcraft article lists professional players.
