Talk:Media of Bhutan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is obvious that the Hob'ble King of Bhutan had very noble intentions in relinquishing his monarchy but I wonder if he had thought of his innocent gullible and unprepared subjects when he was tempted towards display of what he thought to be noble. Has not China, with its history as the great invader of Asia, not claimed the land of tiny Bhutan? Is it not a great threat as a world power esp. without any scruples or morals ? It is also noted that crime rate in the tiny monarchy went up when cable TV was introduced by the Govt. in Bhutan. Is it wise for the King to leave his vulnerable people at the mercy of criminally commercial influence of the West-influenced media ? So far Bhutan has been a good example of protecting humanity from its own evil influences.
I wonder if the King's impulsive decision will ever bear any good fruits either for his own people or the world as a whole. Shrinivas Rao bshrinivasrao@rediffmail.com
