Mamoudou Hama Dicko (a son of the late cow-breeder and leading citizen Mr. Elhadji Birabia DICKO, 1930-2006) was born on December 31st, 1969 in Dori, Burkina Faso. Bachelor of science ("Licence + Maîtrise") in Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry and Natural Compounds ("Cum laude", 1994, Université de Ouagadougou), Master of science ("Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies") in Biochemistry and Food Enzymology ("Cum laude", 1996, UO), Doctor of Science ("Doctorat de Spécialité") in Biochemistry and Food Enzymology ("Cum laude", 1999, UO), PhD in Biotechnology, Food (Bio)Chemistry and Nutrition (2005, Wageningen University). After passing through the steps of "Assistant" (lecturer, 2001, UFR-SVT, UO), "Maître Assistant" (senior lecturer, 2003, CAMES, Côte A), since July 2006, he was appointed “Maître de Conférences” (Personal Professor) of Food Biochemistry and Biotechnology by the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAMES, Côte A). The research interest of Dicko focuses on food enzymology (amylases, beta-glucanase, peroxidases, polyphenol oxidases, lipases, etc.) and phenolic compounds and their impact on food qualities and health properties. Since decembre 2007, professor Dicko is appointed head of the laboratory of Food Biochemistry, Enzymology, Industrial Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, at Université de Ouagadougou. He is also consultant in Agro-industry, Food Sciences and Nutrition. From administrative standpoint, since 2002 he is the permanent secretary of the West African Biotechnology Network, which is a nonprofit scientific organization, created by the Association of African Universities in order to disseminate and share the knowledge on Biotechnology in Africa.
