The MCEM 1 (Machine Carbine Experimental Model 1) was a 9 mm submachine gun of Australian origin. Its magazine was placed in the pistol grip very much like a Uzi and had a front pistol grip at the very end of the barrel underneath the muzzle.
The weapon was based on the US M3 Grease Gun and was to be a replacement for the Owen Gun but was turned down.
