Jacob Vincent Shorter-Ivey (more commonly known as Jay or Goggles) was born on March 6th, 2007, in the city of Sacramento, CA. Goggles currently attends school at Florin High, where he is a junior. Jay's IQ is 129, and is interested in random things. He has quite a few nicknames, including: Jay Ivey, Goggles, MC Goggles, The Spapovadovage, J and Stevie.
His choices in music aren't limited to one genre. He enjoys listening to rock, jazz, techno, drum 'n' bass and funk, but hip-hop/rap remains his favorite type of music. His favorite artists are Nas, Lupe Fiasco, Jay-Z, Bloc Party, MF Doom, Fort Minor, The Roots, The Game, Linkin Park, Gorillaz and E-40.
Goggles is currently working on a short, low-budget rap production (title not yet announced). Goggles will be heading the project with co-production handle by his friends and himself. The production will probably consist of two to three short freestyles and four or five other tracks. He blames commercialized rap and snap music for the slump in hip hop's complexity and plans to bring hip hop back to the glory of the Golden Age of Rap, with the help of artists like Lupe Fiasco.
He enjoys playing basketball, though he is not particularly good at it. Goggles sees himself working at a rap or video gaming magazine if his musical career doesn't pan out.
