[edit] History

May-Fran Engineering Company was founded by Mr. George Meyfarth and Mr. A.J. Franz in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1933 as a general industrial engineering firm. In the 1950s, after developing a number of important technological innovations, including its patented “hinged steel belt,” the Company began to focus more closely on the metal working industry, developing products and systems for machining, stamping and scrap handling operations. Since that time, Mayfran has continued to expand its product portfolio, technical resources, application know-how and geographic footprint to make the Company the global leader in its field.

[edit] Products

Mayfran’s products and systems convey, filter, separate, briquette, shred and process scrap and other materials or fluids in automated manufacturing and scrap management facilities. Mayfran’s offering ranges from relatively simple scrap collection systems for standalone CNC machine tools to plant-wide systems for scrap recovery, management and filtration. In general, the Company’s products and systems are mission critical to each application and are often a key aspect of an overall automation, cost-reduction, safety or environmental program.

Mayfran’s products and systems have strong, global brand recognition along with a reputation for quality and reliability. Mayfran’s engineering and technical strength makes the Company a key resource for its customers, and it is considered the leader and innovator–the standard to which others compare.

Mayfran’s products and systems are customized or adapted to suit diverse industrial applications for its customers. The Company offers its products from four primary business segments: Machine Tool Products, Chip Processing and Filtration Products, Stamping Scrap Management Systems and Solid Waste Management Systems. A common component in each product group is the hinged steel belt. The hinged steel belt was pioneered by the Company and today remains a component in most of Mayfran’s products. In addition to new products and systems, aftermarket parts sales and service form an important part of the Company’s business.
