  6. ^ As most of Oceania data, many data of Cook Islands is quite suspicious due to the poor instruments used in most stations.37.3C record reported at Tongareva is not considered to be credible.

Note: Virtually 100% of all Guam data is unreliable due to a large ammounts of instruments errors, instruments overexposed, transmission data errors, widespread errors and missing data in the archives, etc... Guam WSMO minimun temperatures are also believed to be overexposed and highly exaggerated. This station has recorded 12.2C on March 14th,1965. Neighbour stations don't suport any of its lowest temperatures at all, being about 10C higher. Agana Naval Air Station also claimed 18.3C on 2 and 22 January 1983 and again on 22 January 1987.

  13. ^ http://www.meteo.pf/climat.php?lien=pf. Double checkings have shown that some highest recorded temperatures in Tetiaroa,Motu,Atuona,Reau and Rurutu were likely wrong data and therefore cannot be taken into account.
  14. ^ Arorae station data is almost surely affected by overexposure and/or problems of calibrating instruments. Therefore its records of 36.8C has been discharged. Extremes temperatures recorded in the Kanton Island have also been discharged for large ammounts of problems in that meteorological station.
  15. ^ Data from Eniwetok and other stations are to be considered not reliable, due to a large ammount of errors in their series. Moreover, instruments used are believed to have been badly calibrated. All that results in having these series being completely unusable. Lowest temperatures in the Marshall Islands are believed to be in the range of 18C. 20.0C was recorded at Majuro on November 28th 1991, at Kwajalein on January 4th 1979 and at Jabor on January 18th 1957.
  16. ^ Dozens of data for almost all Marshall Islands have been dischared because are transmission or typo errors. Other old data were taken under German administration under bad exposure conditions and have been discharged too.
  17. ^ This data is to be considered suspicious. Lowest temperatures in Micronesia usually occur during strong thunderstorm or during the pass of typhoons and often are not detected by hourly metars.
  18. ^ Lots of data between 36C and 37.2C have been discharged to transmission errors, instrument badly used, typo errors and overradiation problems. Truk also claimed a record of 36.1C which could'n been verified.
  19. ^ 37.2C was recorded on October 15th,1898, but the exposure conditions of the instrument were not adequate.

  21. ^ Northern Marianas data are extremely poor. Many other more extreme readings are likely wrong data.

  23. ^ A reference of a temperature of 31.7C recorded in the village of Kingston is highly suspicious. That record is almost surely wrong.
  24. ^ Temperatures recorded in Nekken Forestery are highly questioned due to the big ammount of wrong data
  25. ^ Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; no text was provided for refs named KNMI
  26. ^ The reading,although official, of 35.0C recorded in June 3rd 1976, is likely to be a mistake.Next highest temperatures in Palau are 34.4C recorded at Koror on 22 December 1998, 20 March 2000, 27 April 2001, 2 May 2001, 11 May 2001, 28 August 2001 and 30 August 2001 and Nekken Forestry on 10 June 1985.
  27. ^ Lowest temperature recorded in Kieta, in the Autonomous province of Bougainville, is 18.0C.
  28. ^ Another reading of 38.9C claimed at Samarai Island is almost surely incorrect.Lae also recorded 38.7C in the same day but due to an approximation the reading has lately rounded to 101F which in Celsius is 38.9C, which is not the original reading. Erap itself also claimed another 38.9C although no dat has been given for it. Highest temperature recorded in Kieta, in the Autonomous province of Bougainville, is 36.0C
  29. ^ This reading may be suspicious and cannot be confirmed. In separated official readings recorded in 1991 and early 1992 highest temperature was 31.7C.
  30. ^ Highest temperature recorded at Asau and in the capital Apia have been discharged by the Samoa Meteorological Services.
  31. ^ A lowest temperature of 16.7C recorded in August 1952 is to be regarded unreliable.
  32. ^ Tokelau old temperatures may be affected by overirradiation. Normal temperatures range is between 22C and 35C and some old records, although official, must be regarded as suspicious. 37.9C was reported in Atafu in December 1981 but appears to be unreliable.
  33. ^ Temperatures data from Tuvalu and Kiribati are full of wrong and faulty data. Many hourly data is also missing, causing a not correct range of min/max.Moreover instruments used has been not precise and in some cases without sun cages. Therefore some records may be over/under estimated.
  34. ^ A record of 7.2C is probably unreliable.10.6C was recorded on 16 January,25 March and 27 December 1977 and on 28 February 1978.
  35. ^ This record was set in the following days:14 September 1980,16 and 22 September 1984.

  37. ^ This old reading may have been affected by overirradiation. Highest recorded temperature at Bauersfield Airport is 34.5C set on 3 January 2002.
  38. ^ http://www.wallis.co.nc/meteo/ClimatologieWF.html. Old data from Wallis and Futuna are not considered official.Next lowest temperature recorded at Hihifo was 18.3C on July 9th, 1978.
