[edit] Your addition of external link to Simple Machines Forum

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Simple Machines Forum do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Resurgent insurgent 04:31, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Mikemill 05:33, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Simple Machines Forum. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. I do not see a "directory of links" - if there is, you should remove it as well. Resurgent insurgent 05:53, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

please tell me how this is spam??? i don't see you taking off the other pages. leave me alone.

[edit] Last warning: Do not link to smfhosted.com

This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Simple Machines Forum, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing anyone from linking to them from any site that uses the MediaWiki spam blacklist, which includes all of Wikimedia and Wikipedia. SMFhosted.com is a forum hosting service that uses Google Adsense for making revenue, hence linking to it is a violation of our guideline on External links. Desist from adding the link again. Resurgent insurgent 06:01, 18 June 2007 (UTC) why are you being soooo mean. i dont even know who you are. leave me alone and let me do my stuff. is there anywhere i can go to report people like you?

I will leave you alone if you don't insert the link again. Really. Resurgent insurgent 06:08, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

why can i not have a link but the other guy can? please just tell me i dont want any trouble.

Don't add your link just because someone else managed to add theirs. Just because others wrongfully add links does not mean you should do the same. Your link is not okay to include because the site is advert-sponsored. Resurgent insurgent 06:19, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

so if i take the advertisement off it can go back on?

No. If you're the owner of the site, don't add the link to it in the article. Please put the link on Talk:Simple Machines Forum for others to decide whether it is appropriate. Resurgent insurgent 07:09, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
