Mawbima

Mawbima was a weekly newspaper published in Sri Lanka. It was written in the Sinhalese language printed every Sunday. Established in 2006, it is owned by Standard Newspapers (Pvt) Ltd. However, the newspaper was shut down by the Criminal Investigation Department of Sri Lankan police after investigating its owner Tiran Allas' alleged links with the Tamil Tigers (LTTE).
Mawbima is also a news blog that publishes news, features and videos related to Sri Lanka and anti-terrorism, promoting the freedom for all ethnic groups in Sri Lanka. It is also referred to as Mawbima Lanka News.
