Two things... 1) someone had previously deleted (with no reason given) the entry about Clarett's robbery allegations. Please be on the lookout for a reoccurance of this. 2) The latter half (or so) of this article appears to be written with a sloppy style, hence the "inappropriate tone" tag. 71.65.54.92 23:25, 1 January 2006 (UTC)

The "Release Maurice" website (www.releasemaurice.com) is apparently no longer up. And even if it comes back up, I'm not sure it should go in the article—it seems to have been a CafePress store, not an organized campaign. --zenohockey 20:34, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

Where did the $5 million figure come from? I thought the bail is 1.1 million.

The $5 million is for the charges of August 9. That was set this morning at arraignment in Municipal Court. The $1.1 million was for the robbery charge from January 1. That was increased by the Common Pleas Court (where felonies are tried in Ohio) during a previously scheaduled status hearing yesterday. So, technically, both are correct. The article states that Clarett was considered by many as the best player in the country in 2002. While many people have made the argument that he was the best offensive player on his own team, Clarett did not finish in the top ten voting for the Heisman Trophy, which is awarded to the nation's best college football player. [1] I would say this is a subjective statement, and should be removed. johnthacker83 23:20, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

A source should certainly be given for the claim if it is to stay. Regarding Clarett's Heisman standing, though, no freshman has ever been awarded the Heisman. I doubt that a freshman has even been considered for the Heisman. And after the controversy that erupted after the Fiesta Bowl, Clarett probably wouldn't have been considered for the Heisman even if he were a graduating senior. So that isn't necessarily the best indicator of whether or not people thought he was the best in the country, particularly before the Fiesta Bowl. -- SwissCelt 21:43, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Websites seem to list Youngstown only as his "home town", whereas many list Warren as his place of birth. I've added ESPN as a reference for the latter, but a better source would be great. ×Meegs 12:27, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that Warren Harding wasn't his actual hometown school; he was in the Youngstown city schools, open-enrolled at Austintown-Fitch for a while, then transferred to Harding.

[edit] Broncos timeline

Something is amiss in his NFL timeline. All the training camp stuff would have occurred after he signed his rookie contract and before he was cut, so the sentence "Despite his unimpressive training camp, Clarett was offered..." is not chronologically accurate. I don't really know the exacts on his camp stuff, so I'm not sure what to edit it to myself. --Chrishaw 17:25, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

The columbus Dispatch has printed that his hometown is youngstown.

Currently, this statement concludes the opening paragraph: "he is considered one of the greatest disappointments in the history of college football." It may or may not be true but there must be some way to back up that claim. Group29 21:59, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lack of citations

This article rarely references its sources, which makes it very difficult to figure out what is true and what is not. Paticularly the section title, "First Signs of Trouble". This section feels likes its someones POV and there is absolutely no citations in this section. I don't know anything about the person in this article, but I ask anyone who does, please alleviate the problem. --Renegade Replicant 16:18, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
