The Maudsley Study of Bipolar Disorder investigates the neuropsychological profiles of twins with and without bipolar disorder ( this means it looks at different aspects of thinking such as memory and attention). The tasks participants complete involve defining words and solving different kinds of problems. With adequate numbers of twins participating in the study, the hope is to understand any differences between these two groups. The eventual aim being to increase our undestanding of this complex mood disorder and to enhance future therapies for it. However, this will not be achieved without twins volunteering to participate. If you or your twin have bipolar disorder or are not affected by any mental illness and wish to participate please do not hesitate to call Anna Georgiades on +44(0)207 848 0023 or email Anna.Georgiades@iop.kcl.ac.uk or Twinstudy@iop.kcl.ac.uk.
