This is a scan of an image of a postage stamp issued in 1847, and therefore in the public domain in the United States. The scan was taken from the image in David Feldman SA, Maurtius Classic Postage Stamps and Postal History, Switzerland (1993)(auction catalog) p. 31; since the stamp is public domain, the two dimensional image of it also has no copyright claim and is public domain.
