Thanks very much for your message. Good luck with the peer review. I'll try to add some comments there myself later. All the best, --ROGER DAVIES talk 23:48, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Le Paradis massacre GA Review

Sorry, I should have explained better. What I meant was for you to explain on the talk page why the sources I listed were reliable, i.e. who authored them, did they have any officical backing do they list sources etc. The both seem to be personal websites which are frowned upon a little. Its not essential, but if they are simply opinion pieces by a person without qualifications or reputation in this field then they should probably be replaced with someting else. Secondly, what I'll do, is when you feel you've done your best with my comments on thse article, notify me and I'll try to do a copy edit myself in the second review. I'll also leave any further comments for improvement on the talk page and extend the seven days.--Jackyd101 (talk) 12:41, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wiki Thanks!

WikiThanks

Mattyness,

thanks for taking on the task of greatly improving the Le Paradis massacre article! It's well on its way to being a Good Article (or better), because of the time and effort you are putting into it. It does what Wikipedia does best, informs people about the good and bad side of our past. I certainly got swept up into it and my little 'clean-up' was a bit more substantial than I started out to do, but only because you put the substance into it. If anything I changed was too much, whack away at it or let me know if it could be said better. Awotter (talk) 20:38, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

I noticed on the WP:1FAPQ page that you've not had any takers for your peer review request. Although I'm not able to help out at the moment, I've found that personal requests work best. Perhaps you'd have some success with the folks on this list? (Aside from me, heh.) Good luck! – Scartol • Tok 20:48, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fine article

Looks good. I will do my own ce over the next day or two and pass along any pointers. It's already close to FAC-worthy. Marskell (talk) 18:10, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Re your notes and references: you should separate them into two sections. Under references, list the books with full info. Then in the notes you can simply use Smith, p.12. See, for instance, Jack Sheppard on the mainpage right now.
Also, you don't need to separately list the same note. Place <ref name=example>...</ref> the first time you list it and simply <ref name=example/> each subsequent time. It will link to the same spot in the Notes section. If I'm explaining this badly, tell me, and I'll do an example edit. Also see WP:CITE. Marskell (talk) 16:11, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Here is an example edit. Note I've collapsed three identical references into one. Marskell (talk) 20:58, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] FAC

Hey Mattyness, I see you've listed Le Paradis massacre for FAC. A couple of things you might wish to address - as above you need to remove the duplicate references using the ref name= syntax as described by Marskell. Secondly, page ranges in the references should be separated using an en-dash (–) instead of a hyphen. I'll read through the article as well and try to help you get it there. In the meantime should you have any questions, don't hesitate to give me a shout. All the best.. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:45, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Hyphen (-), endash (–), emdash (—), per WP:DASH. Rather than fixing them yourself, you can ask Brighterorange (talk · contribs) to run his script. Named refs are explained at WP:FN. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:58, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Hey, I've fixed both the en-dash and the ref name situation (I think)! Go to the page history and do a "diff" on the current version and the one you nominated - you should be able to see what I did in each case. If you need anything further, don't hesitate to get in touch. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:12, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I left some comments on the FA nomination. I saw that you said this is your first article, and I wanted to say Congratulations! You did an excellent job on it. Karanacs (talk) 20:30, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mistake in the article

Hello,

I work for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. There is a sentence about the discovery of bodies starting with "In 2007,..." that is wrong. The Commission is aware of all discoveries and is the link between the discovery and the Ministry. Could you please delete this sentence?

Thank you in advance.Polynouz (talk) 11:17, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Choe Bu FAC

Hello, a while ago you made a comment on the article Choe Bu, which I submitted as a candidate for featured article status. I have addressed your points and improved the article in other areas as well. I was wondering if you could provide further comment, critique, or opinion of it. Thank you.--Pericles of AthensTalk 20:00, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Le Paradis massacre

Hello! I have given this article a thorough copyedit, per your request at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Logistics. A few remaining issues:

  • The caption on the farmhouse image could use improvement: the article text describes the survivors as surrendering from a cowshed, after the farmhouse they had defended was destroyed. Is this picture the same farmhouse, before its destruction (in which case the image caption needs adjustment)? Or did they surrender at a different farmhouse (in which case the article text needs tweaking)?
  • The Knochlein image seems strangely out of place next to the blockquote from Pooley. Of course it's relevant, I get why you placed it there, but every time I look at the section, my brain and eyes want the image to be of Pooley. I am willing to accept that maybe I'm just nuts, but I wanted to point out the disconnect.
  • Knochlein's name should be standardized (with or without umlaut) throughout the article.

Thanks for an interesting read. Maralia (talk) 15:26, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
