[edit] Notability of Lonely Forest
A tag has been placed on Lonely Forest, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -WarthogDemon 02:43, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- It was User:Carlossuarez46 who actually deleted the article, not I. (I don't have the power to.) Though show him how they're notable on his talk page and if it's good enough, he can restore it. Cheers. :) -WarthogDemon 03:24, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, though it was you that deleted it, I have messaged them.Matt510 03:27, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- No sweat. Hope things go well. :) -WarthogDemon 03:47, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- I can restore it so that you can add the interviews and other materials that show it meets WP:BAND, you should leave the speedy tag and add {{hangon}} to show that you are adding things. There is no guarantee that it won't be deleted; you may wish to recreate it on a user subpage to work on it until its ready. Carlossuarez46 04:38, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, I have added in the appropriate material and hopefully they will be considered "notable" now! -Matt510 08:05, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] your article
I've restored the content from the deleted version, and have pasted it below. I believe that the article asserts enough notability to at least not be a speedy deletion candidate, although I strongly suggest that you closely read our general notability guideline and our music notability guideline, if you haven't already, and make sure that the article conforms to our guidelines. Thanks. Natalie 03:55, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks, later tonight I will add in citations to the resources that I think give the band credibility. -Matt510 03:56, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

The Lonely Forest is an Indie Rock band from Anacortes, WA. The original name of the band was John Van Deusen and the Lonely Forest which was a middle step between the lead singer and keyboard player's solo act and the current formation.
[edit] History
John Van Deusen is a singer/songwriter who also plays guitar and keyboards/piano who released a solo EP titled Yossarian (After the Catch 22 character of the same name) created the band "John Van Deusen and the Lonely Forest" in 2005 (there was also an EP released by the same name). At the same time he was leading a band called Squarewave. There was a restructuring and two member of Squarewave, Eric Sturgeon (Bass) and Tony Ruland (electric guitar) replaced two existing members of The Lonely Forest joining Van Deusen and Braydn Krueger. Van Deusen's name was then dropped from the name of the band when their first EP with this arrangement of members in 2006. Regicide was released as a six track EP that was produced by Jack Endino of Seattle. For personal reasons, Tony Ruland left the band shortly after the release of the EP. Instead of adding a new guitarist, the band decided to focus on the driving piano of Van Deusen. The band's first full length album, Nuclear Winter, will be released in early August, 2007. "Nuclear Winter" was recorded in Krueger's garage and is a "a space rock odyssey into an alternate dimension, [which] showcases the raw sound of the piano, bass and drums layered with synthesizers and melodic vocals."[1]
