[edit] Hit Counters
Matisia, Would you happen to know if it is possible to set up a selective hit counter on Wikipedia pages? Many thanks in advance for your response! - Aires.
I apologise, but I do not myself know this for sure, though I do not think Wikipedia's various rules would allow it. However, I will try to find out for definite from a more experienced Wikipedian of my aquaintance, and hopefully feed back to you more fully within a few days. -Matisia.
P.S. Not meaning to be rude, but you should really sign yourself with your full username, 'Airezulian,' since there is already a user called 'Aires.' You might confuse people!
UPDATE: According to Wikipedia administrator Celestianpower "hit counters have been disabled Wikipedia-wide, since it makes Wikipedia go considerably slower." -Matisia.
Dear Matisia, Thank you so much for responding to my inquiry about the hit counter. I will contact your friend Celestianpower for further info. Thank you for pointing out that I should sign discussions with my username as opposed to my real name. Best regards, Airezulian 18:57, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ormand Cup
Matisia Thank you very much for the help!!!! There seems to be little information on yachting and boating on Wiki. also little information on older history. Some people on here, do not relize that some articles, have very little information on the web to be found. I would like to add more paintings of the Earls of Rothes, from my distant kin Lord Alex. Leslie. He gave me permission to host the paintings on Wiki. I hope to get the Stanhope family the Earls of Harrington to do the same. It would greatly improve Wiki. I try to give life to the people i write about with the paintings. Randall O 10:19, 4 August 2007 (UTC) Randall O
[edit] Hutchinsons of Owlthorpe
- I have that here somewhere but could you give me a few days. As i have many records on his family which is part of mine. As strange as it sounds many people in those days married cousins and kin. As did my kin Zenas Stanhope Ormand, his father was in the iron business in N.C. Also i had trouble listing the rest of the children of Sir John Hutchinson and his father Sir Thomas Hutchinson. I have even had people try to delete some of them. Also captain James Ormond worked for the Panton Leslie company and i believe his family was related to the Leslies. Sincerely,Randall O
Waiting a few days is no problem :) Matisia 09:38, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
I found Edward and his twin brother Thomas were born on Sept. 3 1639. I will go into more detail later when i find that part and the date of death. Which i have here somewhere. His other children were John, there seems to be 2 John,s. Adeliza,Barbara,Lucius,Lucy,Margaret and a child who was born and died when he held Nottingham castle. The other John was born 6 Sept. 1641 and died the 28 Aug. 1647. Sir John Hutchinson,s grandfather Thomas Hutchinson was a very close friend of the duchess of Somerset, Anne Stanhope. He had loaned her money, to keep up the manor of Shelford. Many of Sir John Hutchinson,s children were famous in thre own right. If you would, please list the other 2 sons of Sir Thomas Hutchinson i had trouble listing them. They are William and Lawrence sons of his second wife Margaret Byron. I will add more and give you more sites which explain this in more detail. Randall O 07:51, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Randall O
Sir Thomas Hutchinson (1588-1643) had two sons by his first wife, Margaret Byron (John and George). His eldest son by his second wide, Katherine Stanhope, was called Charles. Note though, that when I asked to know about what children Thomas Hutchinson had (preferably with birth and death dates) I meant the Thomas that was Colonel John Hutchinson's son, who is also the one which you have quite rightly noted I would like to have a death date for. You probabily already realised this, but I just wanted to make sure, given that you have started talking about the elder Thomas Hutchinson; the fact that so many of them had the same names can be confusing!
