Home town: Calgary, AB Canada

Born: 1972

[edit] Biography

Matt was born in Owen Sound, ON, the oldest child of Donald and Mary Wilkins. He has a brother (Jonathan) and sister (Claire).

Matt attended St. Basil's primary school, St. Mary's elementary school, Strathcona senior elementary school, and the Owen Sound Collegiate and Vocational Institute.

In 1989 he joined The Grey and Simcoe Foresters, a Canadian Forces reserve infantry regiment. In the fall of 1990, he transferred to the regular force Navy and was assigned to CFB Esquimalt where he served in the ship's companies of HMCS Saskatchewan, HMCS Regina and HMCS Winnipeg. In addition to several operational cruises, a brief stint on the east coast and various specialty courses, Matt also served as an escort driver on the security detail for Prince Philip during a Royal visit to Victoria.

In 1994 he left the Navy after being offered a job by a friend at a local Victoria bar. He managed the bar until 1997, when he joined the Songhees First Nation police service while working through business school.

Upon completion of business school in 1999, Matt was recruited by a major Hotel company in Banff, AB where he worked until 2002. Matt then accepted a job at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary as a manager of the Student housing and Conference Center. In late 2003, he left the Innkeeping industry and returned to the nightlife in a local bar as a doorman and bartender. In the summer of 2006, a growing family dictated a change of career, and he currently works as a driver for a transport company.

Within the community, Matt can be found volunteering with the Calgary Board of Education.

[edit] Web Presence

Matt is a Staff Member of one of the largest and oldest online first-person shooter PC Gaming teams in North America, Team [Judge], under the gaming handle of Bravo 1. Team Judge lists several hundred active members, hosts several popular servers and was founded in 1998. Matt joined in 2002 as the team underwent an expansion into Soldier of Fortune II, and has seen the team grow into an organization that is now represented in many of today's top first person shooter games, with members from 3 continents. By way of response to concerns expressed about the description of the team's size/age, it should be noted that Team [Judge] is exclusively an FPS (First Person Shooter) gaming team, and that there are larger and older teams involved with role-playing games and other genres.

Matt has also acted as a consultant to the Calgary-based IT firm ConnectMobile, Inc.
