Talk:Matthieu Laurette

[edit] Tone
I like Laurette's work, but the tone of the article needs to change. It could easily be mistaken for (self) promotion. Since the article has been linked to various artist lists, notability in particular needs to be established or someone might recommend it for deletion. Which I wouldn't like to see happen.--Ethicoaestheticist 12:00, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Any Suggestion?
Thanks for your remarks. I'm glad you also like his work. Of course i wouldn't like that this entry would be recommended for deletion either. What do you suggest then? Concerning notability: All page where I listed him mentioned that one of the criteria was "Artists in this list have proven their importance because their work has been shown in contemporary art exhibitions of worldwide importance, such as the Venice Biennale" which he happened to be part of in 2001. - I've added a reference to Bourriaud's Postproduction. Other published references to Laurette would be useful (the newspaper articles can be included as references). Things I suggest changing are: cutting "Laurette has often been credited as the spiritual son of Andy Warhol and Guy Debord", unless a reference can support the claim; cutting "Laurette established his artistic birth certificate" and replacing with a more neutral description of the work; adding more information about some of the group shows, and perhaps trimming the list to include the most significant. The notable achievements need to be stated clearly. His inclusion in the Venice Biennale could be included in the first para. To sum up: keep it neutral, give references, bring notable achievements to the top.--Ethicoaestheticist 13:20, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
OK thanks for your tips, I've edited a lot and added more references and bibliography. hope its better and clearer now. Let me know. Yconnan 15:49, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Looking good. I'll move the first couple of paras of Biography to the top as an introduction.--Ethicoaestheticist 16:39, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
OK
