Talk:Matsuyama, Ehime
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Regarding the translation for Matsuyama - my understanding is that the second kanji is "yama" (山), which means mountain, not hill. Shouldn't the meaning be "Pine Tree Mountain" and not "Pine Tree Hill"? - EstiRose 04:14, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, I changed it. This translation is also found on the Matsuyama city official web site. --MattWright (talk) 18:13, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
This is a very pretty place i would love to go there one day but i can't.
[edit] Matsuyama the next future designated city of Japan?
Some people are wondering that Matsuyama would be the next city to be upgraded to "designated city status", and if it becomes successful in the future it would be the first designated city in the Shikoku Region. The same "casuality" happened when Sendai became a designated city and the first one in the Tohoku Region. I hope that the city of Matsuyama might deserve that upgrade in the future after the cities of Okayama and Sagamihara. jlog3000 (talk) 18:16, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
