From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Matty Gooderick is a non-league football player who currently plays for Banbury United He was born in Bilbao.
At the beginning of his career he enjoyed a brief spell at Derby County, and also was named the reserves player of the year at Burton Albion F.C.
He was then top scorer for Oxford City in the 1998/99 season before joining Banbury United. He scored 41 goals in 56 games in his first season, to lead Banbury to promotion from the Hellenic Football League. He was also the club's top scorer in the next two seasons. However, a bad leg break in 2002 meant that he was out of the game for over 2 years. He returned in the 2005/06 season.
However, the signing of Howard Forinton in 2006 meant that Gooderick was unlikely to get enough first-team football, so he decided to leave the club to join Wealdstone, but more recently he has returned to Banbury F.C.
He scored a total of 101 goals for the club in his 255 games in his first spell.
