Matthew Spriegel

Matthew Neil William Spriegel (born March 4, 1987 at Epsom, Surrey) is an English cricketer who plays for Loughborough UCCE and for Surrey. He was educated at Whitgift School before attending Loughborough University. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. He is six feet three inches tall.
He made his first-class debut for Loughborough against Somerset on April 14, 2007. He has played six first-class matches for them, three in 2007 and three in 2008, all of them as captain. He has scored 217 runs at an average of 21.70, with a highest score of 48. He has taken six wickets at 41.66, with best innings figures of 2/73.
He first played for the Surrey first team in a List A fixture in the Friends Provident Trophy against Essex on May 25, 2008. He made his Surrey first-class debut in the County Championship game against Somerset at Croydon on May 30. 2008.
