Matthew Sheldon Porter (Born: 1859 in New York, New York[1];Died: September, 1906 in Mexico[2]) was a 19th century major league baseball player who, for a short time in 1884, managed and played for the Kansas City Cowboys of the Union Association. During his 16 games stint as manager, his team won three games and lost 13, and he inserted himself into the line-up three times, all in the outfield, which producing one hit, a double, in 12 at bats.[1]
