Matthew Herrick (born May 11, 1976 in Alta Loma, California) is a New York-based American actor, singer, dancer, voice teacher, and director. An Associate Voice Teacher for Liz Caplan Vocal Studios, LLC, and resident company member of Handcart Ensemble, a New York City theatre company.

Born in California, the youngest of seven children, Matthew moved to Orem, Utah at the age of five. At 8 yrs. old he began piano lessons and singing as a boy soprano in local choirs. Matthew's first theatrical role was Kurt in The Sound of Music. He continued to sing and act in starring roles throughout the local schools and community theatres in Utah Valley.

Upon graduating from Orem High School, Matthew was accepted on a full-tuition scholarship to the Music Dance Theatre program at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Just after his freshmen year, he took a two-year deferment from school to serve as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in rural Philippines. Subsequently, Matthew is fluent in Tagalog and taught the language for two years upon return from the Philippines. After his mission, Matthew continued his studies at BYU starring in multiple plays and musicals, traveling the world with the BYU Young Ambassadors, taking a semester off to sail as a performer with Holland America Lines, and ultimately graduated in 2001 with Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Dance Theatre.

Matthew was accepted into the Master of Fine Arts Acting program at The University of Texas at Austin in 2001. During his three year acting training, he starred in both plays and musicals and taught undergraduate courses in Speech and Diction, and Acting.

Throughout his undergraduate and graduate studies, Matthew maintained a full studio of private voice students and worked as a music director for various theatres and studios throughout Utah and Texas.

In 2004, after acquiring both theatrical and commercial representation from his MFA Actors' Showcase, Matthew relocated to New York City. Since then, Matthew has been a principal actor in national commercials, worked on soap operas, acted in plays and musicals, and sung in multiple concert engagements, including Carnegie Hall.

Matthew also works as an Associate Voice Teacher for Liz Caplan Vocal Studios, LLC.
