"The WMD argument doesn't fly because the U.S. only built them in response to the Germans possibly getting it first. Economic war against Japan was perfectly justified because of what they were doing in China. Yes, you could say that Japan wanted to "liberate" Asia from European influence, and this was one argument they used for supporting the war. However, in many cases the Japanese turned out to be far more brutal oppressors than the European colonialists. It's also worth mentioning that the U.S. eventually granted independence to the Phillipines sometime after the war, something the Japanese probably would not have done Masterblooregard (talk) 06:40, 18 November 2007 (UTC)"
your argument doesn't fly because every aggressor has justified his aggression with this argument, that others may get something first. the only aggressor who in fact had every WMD first are the americans (and in fact! not just probably used it) and although the usa have everything first and most, they won't allow anybody else to even copy them. what a sick view, that you are superior to all other nations ("god's own country") and pretend to know what is best for the rest of the world = the american way of life, drinking & snoring coke, getting fat & dumb in front of the latest high tech tv...... don't you ever wonder, why you 'wonderful' people today are the most hated nation in the world? (or do you know any other country, which has more 'conflicts' so far away from home) sorry for the strong wording, but you obviously don't understand 'gentle hints' and still do strongly believe that you are 'innocent victims' where instead you are the only culprit......
Except that isn't the point. The point is that Hitler was EVIL and everybody knew it. You're making the mistake of comparing World War II to the more recent Iraq war. Hitler had displayed a willingness to not only invade other countries by force, but to massacre millions of people he deemed to be "unworthy" of living. That if anything is good enough cause for us to build an atomic weapon before they did. Now if you want to take Iran into the picture now, they too have showed a similar kind of international irresponsibility. If they want nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, then why don't they ACT peaceful? Why don't they show RESTRAINT? I rest my case. Masterblooregard (talk) 14:55, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
