How was the water circulated in and out of the barrel sleave?

[edit] Discrepancy between English and German entry for Maschinengewehr08

I just read through the german entry for Maschinengewehr 08, which states that Germany was in possesion of 4919 MG08s at the start of WWI, while the english entry lists a numer of "aprox. 12000" MG08s available to german battle units at the start of WWI in August 1918. I have no means of checking this numer, so I leave this here as a comment for someone who has. 84.148.119.73 20:15, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Size matter

Shouldn't 7.92 mm (0.31 in) be changed? Wasn't the actual bore diameter was .323, to fire the standard military caliber slug? Trekphiler (talk) 12:52, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Not going to add a definitive answer, since it's not my area, but this is precisely why we don't "translate" calibers in aircraft articles! :) --Rlandmann (talk) 11:33, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
