Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan (born February 27, 1957) is one of the few family inheritors of the great Kirana Gharana. He is now actively teaching students at the prestigious ITC Sangeet Research Academy.
[edit] Early Life & Training
Mashkoor Ali Khan was born in to a musical family. His father, Ustad Shakoor Khan was a great Sarangi player. He is the great nephew of Ustad Bande Ali Khan Beenkar. Mashkoor Ali Khan was trained for over fifteen years by his father. He studied music later as a scholar at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy. His brother, Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan, is also a noted vocalist.

Mashkoor Ali Khan excels as a concert vocalist and as a great teacher. He has performed all the prestigious music festivals in India and also on AIR and Doordarshan. He is the resident Guru at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy and has taught several artists. He has inherited a veritable treasure of composition and was awarded the title Bandish Nawaz.
