I am outraged that the image of the human body shows the penis and not the vagina. It is nauseating that the vagina is constantly portrayed as deviant and the penis as standard. Even here. I would like to see this changed! The image is copyrighted, so how do I contact someone to bring this to their attention?

Hi you need to give a bit more detail, wikipedia contains numerous images of the human body both male and female, clearly in a given article it maybe that only one or other has been chosen. Which article and which image are you specifically looking at? --pgk(talk) 21:32, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Gender neutrality is of course a part of Wikipedias NPOV policy, so it would seem reasonable to both provide a male and female body. But as Pkg said, there are numberous images of both genders on wikipedia. But if you can find or create a suitable image, just be BOLD and update the page yourself. Henrik 21:36, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! The image is under the definition page for "human anatomy," and is titled, "human_body_features.png" There is an image of a woman and a man, but ONLY the male genitalia is labeled. This is standard practice in all anatomy texts and the medical profession in general, but we would like to stop it, and this is a good place to start; unfortunately, I am not computer savvy enough to figure out how to replace the image...can you help????

Well you should be aware of some basic wikipedia policies such as what wikipedia is not, e.g. 1.4 Wikipedia is not a soapbox, that said we welcome people to contribute and improve the overall quality of wikipedia. I suspect the reason the vagina isn't labeled in that image is simply because it isn't visible. One could argue that the vulva should perhaps be labeled though. Unfortunately I can't edit the image, but Pkg provided links on how to do it above. Henrik 22:01, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
