[edit] Chruba's visit

I'll be in Hervey bay and Maryborough for about a month, I'll do some research into history while I'm up there to expand the article - for example, the article says nothing about the sugar industry as it was there. See you all in a month! Churba 08:23, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

BTW, could you get 2 or 3 good photos of each place that shows what is in the article? A general one can go in the infobox ("| image ="). And it would be good if there was a higher res colour version of the logo. (on the site the colour logo is very low res) Remember to use references <ref>, <ref name="name" />, <references/>, etc. You can also fill in info in the infoboxes. Took a few nice photos before Christmas and will upload them soon (moving house and the computer containing the shots is packed away at the moment!). Lived in Maryborough for several years and would like to help with the article: --MichaelGG 13:23, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Name

Does anyone know how Maryborough or the Mary River got their names? Millbanks (talk) 10:13, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

The town was named after the wife of Governor Fitzroy. I think I'll add this to the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kentsussex (talk • contribs) 01:55, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Can anyone confirm if Lennox Street is named after Lady Mary Lennox? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kentsussex (talk • contribs) 02:33, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] PL Travers

Although PL Travers was born and bred in Maryborough (as Helen Goff), she rather rejected it ("not my sort of place"), moved to England, changed her name and adopted a pristine English accent. Millbanks (talk) 10:19, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
