[edit] Philanthropy

What about her work with the YWCA of Nashville (is it Nashville or Tennessee)? She has an auction every year of personal items donated by country music stars... Story goes that Faith Hill didn't have time to find something to donate so at the last minute she offered dinner with herself and Tim McGraw. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 59.101.94.15 (talk) 15:24:36, August 19, 2007 (UTC)

If you want, you can add something about it in the main article. I might look up something later and add it in. (HowIFeel 07:50, 27 August 2007 (UTC)) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Happychick13 (talkcontribs)

[edit] Her Faith

My impression is her Christian faith is a big thing in her life. Shouldn't this be mentioned? I am not knowledgeable enough about her faith to write anything, but maybe someone could put something up? 75.26.174.6 08:25, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I know what you mean. But Martina has never actually talked about it. She sings about God but I've yet to have read an article on her faith so I don't think we can put it in as it would be making assumptions about her religion. Unless someone has something? [edit] German ancestry

Does anyone have a source that she's of significant German ancestry? I've removed the category until someone provides one. JackO'Lantern 05:13, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Necessary?

Is it necessary to include an entire header for the American Idol appearance and then have one line of information?

[edit] Just One Adjective Over The Line of POV???

I can see how you could state her voice as a "strong soprano" but "strong and pure soprano"? Don't get me wrong, I totally love Martina and think her voice is amazing, but I think strong does it just well. Pure seemed just a tiny bit POV to me...but maybe that's just my point of view speaking, LOL. If no one has a problem with it, I'm going to remove "pure," as it does make it seem just a tad POV. -WikiFiend90 06:25, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

She made an appearance on Home Makeover: Home Edition, throwing a benefit concert in Kansas for a family that lost their house. The episode is called "The Nutsch Family Series". --Stephane Charette 22:29, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Purple Envelope Story" section unfinished

The "Purple Envelope Story" section ends with "Two weeks later, June 2, 1992, she did her first opening gig for Garth Brooks in" and no further information is provided. I don't know if this information was removed, or if the section was simply never completed. According to her website (the link is located at http://www.martina-mcbride.com/faq.shtml#9) this was in Denver Colorado, and I am editing it accordingly. Paedraggaidin 19:04, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Waking up laughing

Has the album actually gone gold yet? There is no source for it, yet it says on this page, it's gold. (HowIFeel 01:20, 12 August 2007 (UTC))

The album has been certified Gold, in the US, it debut at #4 on the pop charts, and #2 on the country charts. Worldwide sales are 588k. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.30.123.31 (talk) 19:18, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fansite

There's too much praise here -- as well as too much POV stuff such as "surprisingly" and "loved it". Ten Pound Hammer(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 05:49, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

I got rid of all the praise, so I removed the tag. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 19:49, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
