[edit] Majdanek

Our article on Majdanek lists him as commandant of that camp from 1943–44, before his 1945 position at Dachau. Holding off on adding it to this article until I find a source though. --Delirium (talk) 03:13, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Just FYI: The .de wiki cites the following source (which I've completed as a courtesy ;-) for a statement re: Weiss and Majdanek: Marszalek, Józef (1982), Majdanek. Geschichte und Wirklichkeit des Vernichtungslagers, Reinbek: Rowohlt, pp. 138-144, ISBN 3-499-17494-4 .
Note that Weiss became Kommandant at Lublin-Majdanek on 4. November 1943, not September as the Majdanek article states. (Also, he was there *after* his time in Dachau). The massacre of the 17.000 occurred on 3. November, under Hermann Florstedt.
