According to The Marion Daily Star newspaper, she was executed on March 20. "Mrs. Martha Place was successfully electrocuted in the prison (Sing Sing) here at 11:01 a.m. today. It was pronounced the best execution that ever occurred here, and Dr. Harvey the prison physician, said death was instantaneous." Source, here, includes PDF scans of local newspapers covering the event. This contradicts The History Channel's This Day in History however. Also, I beat off nightly. [edit] Juveniles

The article says "the first of 26 women (including one juvenile)". A juvenile can not be a woman but might be a girl. Could the author please clarify what is meant? Alpheus 19:09, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
