Model 39-A is the correct designation used in all Marlin literature prior to the "Golden" version. Marlin did not use the notation "Model 39A" BomberJoe 05:40, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- They didn't back when they produced it true. However in the Golden 39A era it is now referred to as the Model 39A family and specifically the Model Golden 39A. No "-" is used anymore. Please refer to Marlin 39A page. Gateman1997 16:17, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- True, it's now called the "Golden 39A", but the original (which is a different rifle) is called the "Model 39-A" in all Marlin literature, and it helps to keep the difference in mind to lessen the confusion. BomberJoe 01:23, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
