[edit] Outer Continental Shelf or Continental shelf USCG Jurisdiction

I wikified the link to Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) in the article today. However, it should be noted that it may be the case that the U.S. Coast Guard's maritime security mission may, in fact, apply to both the federal lands of the Outer Continental Shelf AND the landward OCS region (about a 3 to 9 mile swath) that are part of the jurisdiction of each of the several coastal U.S. States. In other words, if the Coast Guard has a security mission from the coast out, then the paragraph as it is currently written is incorrect. I don't know the answer, so will leave it for a more-coast-guard-knowledgeable wikipedian to fix. N2e 01:06, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
