[edit] Why, Mary III of Scotland?

Why did the Jacobite, recognize Theresa as Mary III of Scotland instead of Mary IV. After all there were Mary I of Soctland reign: 1542-67, Mary II of Scotland reign: 1689-94 , the pretender Mary III of Scotland AKA Princess Marie Beatrice of Savoy. AGAIN why not Mary IV?
