It's actually spelt Mareşal (note the cedilla under the "s"), so I suppose we should move this page to Mareşal and make Maresal a redirect.

That cedilla makes the word's pronunciation roughly "Mar-eh-shal", so I assume it's a direct adoption into Turkish of the word marshal. — Franey 14:47, 28 July 2005 (UTC)
