[edit] Marc Verwilghen and Belgian Pedophile Rings

There was an unsigned entry, entered on December 29, 2007, 61.7.164.92 (Talk), about Marc Verwilghen, which read as follows:

"As Justice Minister Verwilghen conspired with pedophile and prostitution rings in the international traffic in women and children, often by sidetracking inquiries and obstructing searches."

There was a much harsher comment by the same contributor about another former Belgian cabinet minister, Antoine Duquesne.

Such complaints, against Belgian cabinet ministers, like Verwilghen, Duquesne, Verhofstadt and others, are not new. many government officials are familiar with them and the public is aware of some of them. They are not false allegations but comments based on official and legally admissible evidence.

It is indeed true that many Belgian politicians have close ties to organized crime syndicates, including the mafia (Cosa Nostra), the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the American Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). They have ties to prostitution and pedophile rings, like the ring operated by Michel Nihoul and Marc Dutroux, that procure women and children to child-killers. Some of these Belgian politicians, when cabinet ministers, make no effort to hide such contacts. Some even flaunt them to demonstrate their complicity and encourage their criminal contacts.

In the future, it would be helpful for contributors to this site to refer to particular cases, if possible, so that something might be done to rescue victims and arrest the criminals. The specific crime committed by the cabinet minister should be described, if possible.
