Maryland Route 42 is a north/south route located in the U.S. state of Maryland. Also known as Friendsville Road, the route runs from U.S. Route 219 near McHenry, Garrett County north to the Pennsylvania state line near Markleysburg, Pennsylvania, where it continues into Pennsylvania shortly before ending at Pennsylvania Route 281.
