Maryland Route 235 is the highway designation for Three Notch Road, a four to six lane 55 mile an hour road in St. Mary's County, Maryland. It is a spur and main thoroughfare of Maryland Route 5 that runs from Oraville to Ridge passing through Lexington Park and notably the towns of California and Hollywood, two Maryland towns within 5 miles from each other. It serves as the main route to the Patuxent Naval Air Station.
[edit] Notes
- Maryland Route 235 is the longest Maryland Route that is exclusive to one county.
- The name Three Notch Road comes from the fact that a road to a ferry was marked with Three Notches on its tree trunk.
