Marvin Israel (b.1924 - d.May 7, 1984) was an American artist, painter from New York known for mod interiors, abstract imagery[1]. Created sinister shadowy and exuberant interiors with implications of violence. The violence was often sexual in nature[2]. Worked as fashion editor for Harpers Bazaar; and taught painting and design at Rhode Island School of Design[3].Israel's work is represented in public collections including Berkley University of California. Little known outside of America.
