Martyr A.D. was a metalcore band formed in 2000 from former members of the bands Disembodied and Holding On. Members of Martyr A.D. included Andy Hart on vocals, Charlie Johnson and Joel Johnson on guitar, Tara Anderson on bass, and Karl Hensel on drums.[1]
They released their first album The Human Condition In Twelve Fractions with the indie label Ferret Music in 2001.[1] Then on April 20, 2004 they released their second and last album, On Earth As It Is In Hell on Victory Records. [1]
Martyr A.D. has toured with such bands as Poison the Well, Throwdown, The Haunted, and Walls of Jericho. They were supporters of PETA and have been featured on their PETA2 website.[2] Martyr A.D. was one of the few metalcore bands with a female member (Tara Anderson).
The band disbanded for unknown reasons in April of 2005.
