Marty Roebuck

Marty Roebuck (born 10 January 1965) is a former Australian rugby union footballer who represented New South Wales and the Wallabies as a fullback.

Born in Lithgow, New South Wales, Roebuck is also a physiotherapist by profession and balanced his time between this and rugby when the game was strictly amateur. A test regular from his debut in 1991 against Wales in the 63-3 annihaltion in which he scored two tries, he went on to win the 1991 Rugby World Cup with Australia. A solid kicker from his hands as well as at goal, he had excellent positioning and was a good tackler. On the tour to Europe he took the kicking duties from Michael Lynagh who had been Australia's regular kicker since 1984. His 23rd and final test was a man of the match virtuoso performance against France in 1993 which the Wallabies won 24-3. Roebuck scored all the points except for Tim Gavin's touchdown.
