Martins Heron railway station is a railway station in the suburb of Martins Heron, Winkfield on the eastern edge of the town of Bracknell in Berkshire, England. It is situated on the London Waterloo-Reading line, between Ascot and Bracknell. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by South West Trains
[edit] History
The station was opened in October 1988 by British Rail and is one the most recent stations on this largely Victorian line. It is adjacent to a Tesco supermarket, and was built as a precondition for the supermarket itself to be built in conjunction with the Royal County of Berkshire.
The Ticket Office is small but well maintained. Platforms, in common with most stations on this line, cater for eight carriage trains. Entrances are found on both platforms, although only Platform 1 (towards Waterloo) has a ticket office with Platform 2 (towards Reading) backing on to housing and open green space.
[edit] Services
Martins Heron is served by trains from Reading to London Waterloo, which operate every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday, and every 60 minutes on Sundays. It takes approximately 55 minutes to reach London Waterloo from Martins Heron, and 20 minutes to reach Reading.
