Martin Luther King High School is located at 3200 E. Lafayette in Detroit, Michigan, United States.

Martin Luther King High School was originally known as Eastern High School. It opened in 1901 with three teachers and 300 students on Mack and E. Grand Blvd. In 1966 was when the school moved to its current location at 3200 E. Lafayette. In 1968, the school changed its name to Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School. The colors were then changed from orange and black to gold and black, as was the school logo/mascot changed from an Indian to the Crusaders.

MISSION STATEMENT:

Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School, in collaboration with the community will successfully educate all its students in a positive and healthy learning environment to be productive participants in a global society.
