Martin Bisi is an American producer and songwriter. He is known for recording seminal records by Sonic Youth, John Zorn, Material, Bill Laswell, Swans, Herbie Hancock's Grammy-winning Rockit, and Angels of Light. In 1979, Martin Bisi started BC Studio with Bill Laswell and Brian Eno at The Old American Can Factory in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn, where he recorded many of the No Wave, punk bands, and hip-hop of the early 1980s including Lydia Lunch, Foetus and Afrika Bambaata. In recent years Bisi recorded The Dresden Dolls' crictically acclaimed debut album, as well as mixed the surprise break-out CD by Serena Maneesh of Norway. He also performs with his band under his own name. His album Sirens Of The Apocalypse was released in May '08. His CD release show at NY's Knitting Factory featured a special performance by his long-time associates, John Zorn and Bill Laswell playing together, as well as The Homosexuals of late 70's fame.
