Markus Berger (born January 21, 1985 in Salzburg) is an Austrian footballer who plays as a defender for Académica de Coimbra in the Portuguese Liga. He has also played for SV Ried in his native Austria.
Berger emerger as a starter as Ried finished runner-up in 2006-07. Académica paid €300,000 for his services in July 2007.
After going almost unnoticed throughout 2007-08, he scored in his fifth game with Académica, in an April 11, 2008, 3-0 away success against SL Benfica.
