Marko Veselica is a Croatian politician.
During the "Croatian Spring" Marko Veselica developed a reputation of being a Croatian nationalist. As such, he was persecuted by Communist authorities of Yugoslavia and subsequently spent 11 years in prison, becoming one of the best known dissidents and martyr-like figure.
In 1990 he became the leader of newly formed Croatian Democratic Party (HDS).
