The shopping centre currently houses 45 stores over 155,000 square feet (14,400 m²) of gross leasable area. It comprises a mostly high street brands with a smaller number of independent retailers. The centre was built in 1976 on an area which was damaged during World War Two and incorporates a bus station underneath and a multi-story car park to the east. It has two main entrances from the Market Place, via a slope, and from Regent Boulevard, up escalators. The centre was renovated in 2003 and modernised entrances and decor were added.

[edit] Expansion

Work begun in the summer of 2007 on an expansion to the shopping centre. The old coachouse was demolished to make way for it. Local architects called the plans bland but planning permission was gained and construction begun in August. The work is expected to be finnished by autumn 2008. The expansion is to see room space for 3 department stores and 9 regular stores. It has been confirmed that Debenhams will open as part of the expansion, New Look will open a larger store and Starbucks Coffee will also open ther first chain in Great Yarmouth as part of the extension. Costa Coffee, La Senza, Monsoon have also stated submissions to open stores within that area. Accessorize are also interested but are only willing to join if parent company Monsoon does.
